Three Forks FCCLA Final Video

Thursday, March 26, 2009

We had a great week, we had the opportunity to work with A Keep The Drive Team from Bridger High School to present a Smart Driving Carnival at our State Leadership Conference for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). The carnival included a Seat Belt Convincer, Distracted Driving Course, a Spot the Tot, No Zone information, and Impaired Driving Goggles. We also presented information about getting involved with safe teen driving projects across the country and where to go for funding and grant opportunities. Over 900 students from across the state had the opportunity to participate in this event at our state conference.

Our ACT OUT LOUD Team has been invited to present our project in North Dakota at their FCCLA State Meeting in April, So if you are in Bismarck the 19-21st of April come check it out at the North Dakota State Conference.

We are working on plans for a Safe Driving Carnival at our school the last week in April with Speakers and a variety of Activities.

Take 5. . . To read about our Act Out Loud Project
Welcome to the Three Forks Act Out Loud Blog. We are excited to work with NOYS and the Act Out Loud Program. Our project, Take 5, focuses on reducing impaired and distracted driving among teen drivers.

Our first activity will be working with the Keep the Drive Team from Bridger, Montana to present a safe driving workshop at the State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Conference in Billings March 19th. The activity will include a safe driving carnival with a variety of activities including a relay race wearing fatal vision goggles and a project planning workshop for FCCLA chapters from across the state of Montana.

Other activities we have planned are a red ribbon graduation celebration, red ribbon locker decorations, and impaired driving activities with health and physical education classes. Our journalism class will be publishing a special edition of the "Red Wolf Times," and the introductory English classes will journal their involvement in our project. We are planning to produce a DVD with vignettes of individuals directly affected by impaired and distracted driving. An all school assembly with activities and a guest speaker is planned for the end of April.
